A Vision for a Restored and Lawful Future
We hold a clear and steadfast vision: a San Bernardino county where the People once again govern themselves under the original de jure framework established by our founders — a community rooted in common law, constitutional principles, and the unalienable rights of every man and woman on the land. Inspired by the California Constitution of 1849, we envision a county in which:
- All political power truly resides in the People, as declared in Article I, Section 2, and government exists solely for their protection, security, and benefit.
- Common law grand juries, seated by the People, serve as an independent check on power, investigating grievances and safeguarding justice without interference.
- Lawful courts on the land operate openly and fairly, upholding the rights to life, liberty, property, safety, and happiness for all residents.
- Peaceful assemblies of neighbors meet regularly to deliberate, educate one another, and build a strong, self-governing community grounded in mutual respect and goodwill.
- Education and understanding of our constitutional heritage flourish, empowering every resident to live in freedom and harmony with the principles handed down by those who came before us.
We see a future where the blessings of liberty — secured through gratitude to Almighty God and the wisdom of our founding documents — are enjoyed by present and future generations alike. This is not a distant dream, but a practical and peaceful restoration, built one county at a time through lawful assembly, thoughtful discussion, and unwavering commitment to the rule of law.
Toward That Vision
The San Bernardino county Jural Society works diligently to make this vision a reality by:
- Gathering residents in open, welcoming assemblies
- Studying and sharing the principles of common law and our original constitutional framework
- Forming and supporting independent common law grand juries
- Fostering cooperation with like-minded counties across California
We invite every resident who shares this vision of lawful, constitutional governance to join us. Together, with patience, respect, and determination, we will see it fulfilled.
“We, the people of California, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom, in order to secure its blessings, do establish this Constitution.”
— Preamble, California Constitution of 1849
